Millie and Molly Try. Getting yourself out of your comfort zone.

At Vagabond Pilates, we’re big believers in trying new things. Not because you need to become an expert at everything, or because your life needs another challenge to tick off a list, but because sometimes the best experiences happen when you say yes to something you wouldn’t normally do.

So, Millie and Molly have decided to put that theory to the test with Millie and Molly Try. The idea is simple: get out there, try something different, meet some brilliant local businesses and, hopefully, have a lot of fun along the way. There may also be a few questionable decisions and some questionable dancing and a lot of F*cking swearing (would you expect anything less?).

So, what have they been up to?

Things kicked off with coasteering alongside the brilliant team at Land & Wave. If scrambling over rocks, getting into the sea and throwing yourself into something a little outside your comfort zone sounds like your idea of a good time, they’re well worth checking out.

The girls have also been exploring some of the fantastic businesses in and around Brewery Square in Dorchester, discovering what our local area has to offer and giving a few new experiences a go.

There’s been cocktail making at Santos + Co, a hot wings challenge with Nandos, and even a spot of doggy soft play at Mutt and Everything Dog. Yes, you read that correctly, soft play and doggos, the best mix! There’s also been a trip to adult soft play, which turned out to be a particular highlight. All was going brilliantly until they were eventually asked to leave. We’re not entirely sure whether that says more about their enthusiasm or their maturity levels, but we’re choosing not to ask too many questions. Apparently, you’re never too old to have a good time. Although there may be an age limit on how long you can get away with it.

Each experience has been a chance to try something new, meet the people behind local businesses and appreciate just how much is out there if you’re willing to give it a go.

It's about more than just having a laugh

Don't get us wrong, we’re not suggesting that everyone needs to take up coasteering, eat increasingly painful hot wings or throw themselves into a new hobby every week. Although, if that’s your thing, crack on.

For us, Millie and Molly Try is about two things we genuinely care about: supporting local businesses and encouraging people to step outside their comfort zones every now and again.

It’s easy to get caught up in the same routines. Work, home, the weekly shop, the same places, the same conversations. Before you know it, you can end up doing the same things simply because they’re familiar.

Trying something new doesn’t have to be a massive life change. It might be giving Pilates a go for the first time, booking an activity you’ve always fancied trying, visiting a local business you’ve walked past a hundred times or simply saying yes when someone suggests something different.

You might discover a new hobby, meet some brilliant people or find something you never knew you enjoyed. Or you might decide it really isn’t for you. That’s fine too. At least you gave it a go.

And that’s something we believe in at Vagabond. You don’t have to be good at something before you start, and you certainly don’t need to fit a particular mould. You just need to be willing to turn up and have a go.

And they're only getting started...

The girls have plenty more planned, and things are about to get interesting.

Coming up, there’s mermaid swimming, Muay Thai, MMA and even heels dancing. We’re not entirely sure what to expect from some of these, but we’re fairly confident there’ll be a few laughs along the way.

We’ll be sharing the experiences, the businesses they visit and the highs, lows and inevitable moments of embarrassment on our social channels. So keep an eye out, cheer them on and discover some of the brilliant things happening right here on our doorstep.

And who knows? You might see something that makes you think, “Actually, I quite fancy giving that a go.”

If you do, our advice is simple: go for it.

You’re never too old to try something new, and you never know where it might lead. Just ask Millie and Molly.

Fancy trying something new yourself? Whether it’s your first Reformer Pilates class or something completely different, find your next adventure, get out of your comfort zone and see what happens.

And if you end up doing heels dancing, please send us the footage.
